Coach Gus April 2020 reflects the signs of the time (mask and Horns) surrounded by the history of Longhorn baseball in the background. Coach followed the great Bibb Falk as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns baseball team.

HISTORY

Bibb Falk led the Longhorn football and baseball teams.

As a professional baseball player he challenged Babe Ruth for the batting title.

As the Longhorn “Field/head coach” of the Longhorn baseball team he led the Horns to many SWC championships and two National Championships.

1918 UT women Ball players celebrate earning the “T”

1998- 70 Years later Longhorn women make College Softball history.

The Longhorns are the youngest Program ever to qualify for the CWS. In 1996 the Longhorn softball team was a non-athletic-department club sport with a 1-25 record. In 1997 the softball team was 30-24, and in 1998 the Horns are 49-16 and in the CWS.
