A golfers epiphany -a valuable life lesson for all athletes

(Authors name is unknown)“I hated to disappoint anyone, so I would practice until my hands would bleed. I hated failure. It seemed that everyone thought that I was more special when I succeeded. I didn’t realize it then, but I had traded unconditional love from my dog for a life of conditional acceptance based on my golf score.”

Coach Akers said after a big win “get out the wide-angle lenses, boys, I’m gettin’ ready to smile.”

LONGHORN REFLECTION POINT

There is a new site on the Longhorn TLSN website titled “Reflection Point” that offers fans an opportunity to share special moments, memories, or photos with other Longhorns.

Fans are the lifeblood of any sport, and their passion over the last 120 plus years has played an essential role in defining Longhorn heritage, traditions, myths, and folklore.

Anthony Snodgrass is one of these fans. A Longhorn fan by choice not by education. He did not attend Texas. He enjoys ranking all the Longhorn teams and players combining all football eras. A subjective and challenging task but nonetheless an entertaining process.

His rankings combine perspective, facts, stats, and viewpoints to form an educated opinion. Anthony says, “I’m more of a fan of old school football that honors the history, the players, and the traditions.” His top 25 list reflects that viewpoint.

Anthony now has an exclusive page on the TLSN website to share his Longhorn Reflection Points. His site is titled “It Is My Opinion.” His first Reflection Point list the top 25 Longhorn football players.
